What is the difference between a wavy and a curly extension?

The wavy extension features a soft, wide wave, similar to a blow-dry finish or a natural beach wave — the curl angle is open, between 120° and 150°. The curly extension features a tighter, more defined curl, comparable to a naturally frizzy texture or a soft perm — the curl angle is closed, between 60° and 90°. Both textures are permanent and resistant to washing.

Is the wavy or curly texture permanent?

Yes. The texture is built into the hair structure during collection or initial processing — it is not achieved through heat styling. Unlike using a curling iron on a straight extension, the wavy or curly texture of Russian hair withstands repeated washing and holds over time. For wavy extensions, it is however recommended to reshape the wave after each wash: apply a styling mousse to damp lengths, then dry with a diffuser by gently lifting the sections. The texture comes back easily — it is not a natural curl in the strict sense, but it re-forms effortlessly with the right products.
